When you design a logo, there's some intent behind what you do. For example, I once designed a logo for a company that mostly produced content, and I wanted the logo to have the appearance of type, but without looking like it was created using Courier. Instead, I used a more modern serif font that looked similar to a traditional typewriter's output, and then made a circular logo that looked like a key from that same typewriter. The client was happy and so was I — win-win.
